is a charity working with people with learning disabilities and autism in Oxfordshire. They support both young people and adults to live life to the full, aiming to reduce isolation and increase confidence, social skills and independence. They do this by providing an ambitious programme of projects including youth clubs, residential holidays and support into training and employment.
In 2015, the Clothworkers’ Foundation awarded a grant of £15,000 towards the cost of a new minibus totalling £17,600. The new vehicle was needed to enable Yellow Submarine to expand their services into West Oxfordshire and make it possible for people in the area to attend the day-to-day activities of their training and employment projects.
The minibus is now in use on a daily basis and has given Yellow Submarine the flexibility to transport their members to different sites and offer unique opportunities across Oxfordshire. In addition to benefitting the current members, increased presence in the community across a wider area because of the new vehicle has led to a significant increase in membership and they are now supporting more young people and adults than ever before.
