The Foundation awarded Haven Wolverhampton £60,000 in 2014 to purchase and renovate
‘The Haven Hub’ which opened in April 2016. The total cost of the project was £447,000.
They Hub offers a range of activities and services including support with trauma and confidence issues.
The Community Outreach Team based at the hub provide service users with face-to-face meetings with solicitors, court support, resettlement support and advocacy. The hub also delivers training programmes to improve independence and confidence through the Freedom Programme, Economical Empowerment sessions and Peer mentoring. Service users are able to attend specialist drop-in weekly sessions to ensure on-going recovery progression. In addition to these services, The Haven Hub also operates a helpline and volunteer services.
A service user said of her experience with The Haven Wolverhampton after escaping an abusive relationship with her husband:
‘The Haven helped me from the beginning right through to the end and continue to help me. I will never forget the help I received as I think without the help I might be dead’.
